IWC Copenhagen Calender
In January, we can celebrate our 42nd birthday. Anne Vad will be a guest of honour at the luncheon to be held on January 23 at Adresse in Hellerup.
Anne has an impressive education, as a school teacher and at Copenhagen University she chose Literature, as her main subject and Art history and Cultural dissemination. She currently works for ‘Kirkeministeriet’.
Anne has a beautiful voice and has sung at a church in Nørrebro for many years. In June this year Anne submitted her text to “Alsang”, a competition to celebrate 75 years since the Liberation of Denmark and her text was voted one of two winners along with ‘Freedom of the Day’ (Frihedens Lysdøgn). The competition is Denmark’s most important song writing competition. She adapted her text to music written by her grandfather and came away with substantial prize money. Her music will be performed in May 2020.
Anne will sing her song during the luncheon after talking about her life, her musical family and the competition.
The Activities committee would like to invite you with your partner and friends to a Wine Tasting evening as the first activity of 2020.
We are going to taste South African and German white and red wines selected by Kris Kristensen.
In February it is nice to keep close to town and now we have a new Metro station very close to Karin’s home. She’s look forward to seeing you there, but not before 10:50 am, as her wonderful team of coffee ☕️, sandwich 🥪 and cake 🍰 makers need time to get the table ready for you.

About “the David Collection”
The David collection is housed in the building once occupied by the museum’s founder Christian Ludwig David. The collection of Islamic art – internationally the museum’s most important one – comprises work from nearly the en- tire Islamic cultural sphere, from Spain in the west to India in east, and covers the period from the emergence of Islam in the 7th century to around 1850.
